Satisfaction

Satisfaction

At my Christian high school, we have chapel every Thursday. Next Thursday, March 2nd, is my Junior Class chapel and as the class “chaplain” (I don’t like that name) I have the responsibility and delight to organize this thing.

I’m planning on showing the BattleCry video, “Casualties of War” to try to portray the message of what the crisis going on in my generation really is. And we’re going to relate that short video to the idea of satisfaction in life. We’re hoping to get a few people to share their stories with us about how God has become or is becoming their only true satisfaction in life and all else really does fall short.

And I’m having a meeting with my youth pastor on Sunday to discuss what we can do as far as showing people what is really going on in my generation in our youth ministry and also with the adults (whether that be a service, small groups, both or what.)

So that’s just a little update. I’m going to make sure things keep rolling. We have very little time to save a generation.

Beginning

There is a battle raging for my generation. We are a generation of young people who are being bombarded with vulgar, sexual, explicit, violent media and "entertainment" everywhere we look. We are a generation of young people who are getting pregnant, having abortions, getting STD's, injuring ourselves, doing drugs, and everything else you can think of.
But we are also a generation starving for purpose. We want and need something to live for that is bigger than ourselves. Unfortunately, very few people are presenting what my generation needs to live for to my generation.

Me? I've found it. I've found what I need to live for...it's Jesus. Completely, utterly Jesus. He is my All in All. He is everything I will ever need. He has saved me from so much, and He has given me a passion to reach my generation. To lead them into a passionate relationship with Christ and save them from the hell they are living in.

To effectively reach my generation and SAVE them, there needs to be many people joined together, arm in arm, ready to fight this battle.

Ron Luce, founder of Teen Mania Ministries, caught this vision from God and his running with it. He is in the process of forming a gigantic coalition of people who will fight for my generation. I am proud to be apart of that coalition, and I am preparing for everything God would have me to do to save people my own age. A BATTLE CRY is what this coalition must sound throughout this nation to save Generation Y. Visit www.battlecry.com to learn more about it.

This blog is simply to make people more aware of what is really going on in my generation and what they can do to help. Also, one of my goals is to take this BattleCry Presentation to as many people as I possibly can...through small groups or large, it makes no difference to me. I simply know that the first step in this BattleCry is to make people aware of what is going on and show them how they can help. I do live in the Oklahoma City area, so some of the info here will be local info. and I would love for people in the area to check it out and see how they can get involved.
